AvCarb Material Solutions
The Director, Sales & Marketing will direct and oversee the organization’s sales objectives and initiatives and
will work closely with customers around the globe to commercialize carbon materials for a variety of end-use applications (e.g. fuel cells, electrolyzers, flow batteries, other electrochemical systems). The position will be based at the Lowell facility.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Direct sales forecasting, goal setting, and strategic planning as part of the AvCarb management team.
- Leadership and management of AvCarb’s internal sales force and distributor network to achieve sales targets and accomplish strategic goals across all product segments
- Develop and implement strategic marketing initiatives supporting AvCarb’s business development goals.
- Exploration and analysis of markets and customers for AvCarb’s products and capabilities, represent AvCarb in identification and development of new customers and partners around the world.
- Develop strategic business partnerships with individuals at key accounts in order to identify and close new opportunities at prospective and existing accounts.
- Maintain practical knowledge of the target industries as it relates to AvCarb’s business
- Negotiate, individually or as a member of a team, sales contracts and agreements.
- Establish, understand and strengthen linkage between the customer’s business strategy and AvCarb’s product and development capabilities to optimize account sales potential.
- Serve effectively as customer’s advocate within AvCarb. Ensure customer service needs are met.
- Build strong internal relationships to support troubleshooting and effective resolution of problems reported by customers.
- Travel within North America, Europe and Asia as needed, up to 50%, working with international representatives to identify and close international business opportunities.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Ideal Candidate has MBA, with Material Science, or Engineering Bachelor’s Degree
- 5-7 years of experience selling and managing large, complex accounts
- Experience in successfully leading a team of sales managers and distributors to achieve targets
- Experience in Strategy, strategic marketing and marketing communications
- Strong drive, sense of urgency, self-motivation, and goal-orientation
- Basic understanding of contracts and contract law
- Comfortable working within a business environment that prioritizes business growth.
- Proven track record of generating, qualifying, and closing new business opportunities.
- Strong communications and negotiating skill, both oral and written. Must project competence and confidence when interacting with senior executives of AvCarb customers and strategic partners.
- Familiarity with and training in sales methodologies (e.g. strategic selling), and CRM systems.

Pay: $90,000.00 – $134,858.00 per year
