Transportation & Logistics Manager Job, Roswell, GA
Arclin USA is seeking talent to fill a Transportation & Logistics Manager position located in our Roswell, GA headquarters. Reporting into the Director of Supply Chain, this position will be responsible for managing end to end Transportation & Logistics from both a strategic and tactical perspective. This position will support all business units, and will partner closely with other members of the Supply Chain team.
Transportation & Logistics Manager Job Responsibilities:
- Overall responsibility for developing, communicating and implementing procurement strategies for all transportation spend categories
- Develops and maintain appropriate transportation policies and programs that meet cost and service objectives and customer requirements. Includes: sourcing, rate negotiation, freight bill auditing and overcharge claims and optimum traffic routes
- Develops and maintains effective relationships with suppliers while ensuring ongoing management of contracts and associated metrics/KPIs and continuous improvement efficiencies
- Identifies Logistics process improvement opportunities through strategic thinking, critical thinking and analysis
- Be a trusted advisor by developing and maintaining effective relationships with key stakeholders to support business needs
- Review impact of logistics changes, such as routing, shipping modes, OT costs, etc and report results
- Recommend optimal transport modes, routes or frequency to reduce freight costs
- Interpret trends and analyze and review data. Provide meaningful logistics data to others in the organization to aid customer service and cost improvements
- Ensure metrics, reports and process documentation are maintained for audit purposes
Transportation & Logistics Manager Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or other applicable fields required
- 5+ years of progressive experience in manufacturing logistics, warehouse, or transportation operations
- Must have experience managing the following freight categories: Liquid bulk inbound and outbound, dry van, rail, ocean vessel, other (reefer, curtain van, flat bed, intermodal)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a detailed understanding of cost drivers
- Ability to work well autonomously and within a team environment
- Ability to operate at both the strategic and tactical implementation level
- Proven track record of taking ownership and driving results
