Air Van Moving, one of the Northwest’s leading moving and logistic services companies, is currently seeking a highly qualified candidate to lead our growing Transportation Management Team supporting HP Inc. This position will report directly to the Program Manager for the account and work very closely with senior and executive leadership within HP to ensure the team is effectively meeting all expectations. This key role will manage a team of 6 to 8 people that are contracted by HP to manage a diverse range of key logistics and transportation roles. This team is locating primarily within the Boise area and is a mix of individuals working remotely and onsite at the HP Boise campus. The chosen candidate will be able to work remotely (from home) a large portion of the time. Within this team is the responsibility for:
- All aspects of transportation management for multiple key business segments within HP. This includes various aspects of management for hundreds of key accounts to include escalations, planning, cost containment, SOP development, developing and updating routing guides, monitoring of key metrics, etc.
- Management of returns team responsible for support of HP North American RMA returns coordination, process improvement, carrier engagement and cost containment.
- Managing and supporting HP claims process and monitoring overall carrier performance.
- Conducting planning meetings between account managers, customers and freight carriers.
- Oversight of HP air freight processes inbound to the US.
The Transportation Team manager will have overall responsibility for the performance of this team. Key responsibilities will include:
- Regular engagement with transportation team to support and ensure fulfilment of all key responsibilities.
- Providing issue mediation / resolution to include follow-up documentation and process improvement reporting.
- Develop, support and present manager and director level presentations to HP.
- Daily engagement with various managers and other stakeholders within HP transportation and logistics.
- Development of job descriptions, performance reviews, facilitate cross-training and career progression and mentoring for members of the team.
A successful candidate should have experience in Transportation management, management of teams and a proven track record of developing and delivering great communication to executive leadership.
Ideal potential candidates for this position should be able to demonstrate the following minimum qualifications:
- 3 plus years demonstrated experience managing all aspects of high value transportation processes to include customs clearance, claims, cost containment, metrics and rate analysis, etc.
- Business or related bachelor’s degree is a plus but not required.
- 3 plus years managing and developing teams.
- 3 plus years developing and delivering presentations.
- Proven ability to solve complex problems.
- Demonstrated ability to adapt and develop processes and handle complex customer issues.
- In depth experience generating reports, developing scorecards and metrics, and general ability to quickly learn multiple areas of the business.
- Must be able provide proof of COVID vaccination in compliance with HP policy as well as pass a background check and employment history screening.
