The impact you will make:
Agios Pharmaceuticals is searching for a dynamic Associate Director, Solutions Architect to join our Information Technology team. We want someone who cares about this important work, and who’s driven to connect to our mission of helping us deliver on our promise to patient communities. The Associate Director, Solutions Architect will help our team design and implement technology solutions at Agios that drive business value. Our team provides a set of services to Agios, including enterprise architecture, application design, technical delivery of projects and enhancements, and transition of day-today support tasks to L1 and L2 support teams. This position will be a leader within our solutions team, able to bring to bear their experience and technical know-how to help make a difference. This position will work with IT Business Partners to understand key business requirements and to lead a team that will translate requirements into impactful solutions.
What you will do:
- Contribute to a design and delivery service in support of Agios priorities as defined by the IT project portfolio and enterprise application landscape
- Lead and manage internal and external technical resources performing design, configuration, development, testing, and deployment activities for our applications
- Conduct research on emerging technologies in support of Agios’ objectives and recommend technologies that will increase cost effectiveness, flexibility, and innovation
- Manage budget, issues, risks, quality, and schedule for technical workstreams
- Articulate design considerations, trade-offs, benefits, and recommendations for technical architectures with scalability and supportability in mind
- Leadership and ownership of application design and detailed configuration specifications
- Accountable for all configuration, technical testing, deployment plan, and transition to L1/L2 support
What you bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology or management of information systems with 10+ years of experience
- IT development/technical and/or application management as well as IT project management experience (5+ years)
- Experience with Cloud-based SaaS application platforms and developing Cloud architectures
- Experience designing cloud-to-cloud integrations and the use of integration platforms
- Good listening skills with ability to make timely well-informed decisions
- Ability to translate business requirements and architectures into system designs
- Willingness and ability to be a hands-on contributor as needed
- Experience with Identity and Access Management programs and associated technologies a plus
- Knowledge of software validation practices and GxP operating procedures
