Advantage Concrete, LLC Looking for Construction Worker at Hiawatha, KS

Advantage Concrete, LLC of Hiawatha Kansas, specializing in premium laser-screeded concrete flatwork, has full-time employment openings.

We are seeking alert individuals who enjoy the great outdoors, are ready to learn and will work to support the team. We REQUIRE a commitment to SAFETY, CAREFULNESS and TEAM ENCOURAGEMENT.

We are a small, family focused company that has been established and growing in this community for over 10 years and we are excited that we have moved into our new 80×150 operations and office headquarters building!

Attitude is more important than skills but construction experience, especially site work and concrete finishing skills are a strong plus.

We typically work in rural and ag settings within a two hour radius of Hiawatha, KS but also do some commercial work. All tools are provided, lunch is provided on Fridays and breakfast any day that we start before 6am. Desirable Skills:

• General proficiency with construction power tools.
• Familiarity with construction site concepts and layout.
• Proficiency in skid steer and/or mini-excavator operation.
• Proficiency with operating 1-ton truck and trailer, hauling heavy equipment, securing loads, etc.
• Familiarity with construction laser equipment for setting grade, forms, etc.

Type of Work:

• Site Prep Work – site layout/set corners, skid loader, mini-excavator, dig footers, grade work.
• Pour Prep Work – Set forms, laser grade, compact, lay plastic and rebar.
• Place and Finish – Pour and place concrete, screed with laser or handheld equipment, pan and trowel with rider and walk-behind trowels, hand finish edges, doors, etc., saw relief cuts in flat work.
• Shop Work – General equipment maintenance, etc. during off days or inclement weather.

Hours of Operation Vary by Season:

• Winter 8am to 5pm
• Summer 6-7am to 3-5pm with some days starting earlier

• In general applicants should be between 18 and 50 years of age with an active constitution and a reasonably strong back.
• Personal equipment such as tool belt, gloves, work boots, etc. are provided by the employee.

• A high school diploma/GED is desirable but NOT required to apply.
