We are looking for an experienced and self-motivated individual to fill the position of Traffic Clerk with our Chemical Manufacturing Facility located in Wichita, Kansas.
Essential Job Duties:
Maintain protection of the environment and the health and safety of our employees, customers, and the communities in which we operate and/or transport our products, as our highest priority.
Facilitate the shipping of product from Wichita to various terminals and customers.
Use SAP and RailTrac to monitor utilization of trailers and tank cars.
Verify and/or inquire on information produced through T&D, Sodium Chlorite, Transportation and operations.
Assimilate inventory information, create and produce reports from the organic and inorganic areas to develop daily inventory and monthly production reports.
Capable of assembling and organizing a number of requests concerning shipments, tonnage and container information for various departments within the Oxy organization, including Environmental and Safety.
Coordinate information (written or oral) concerning all aspects of orders shipped from the Wichita plant to assure the material is being shipped and accurately entered into SAP in a timely manner.
Monitor key raw material inventories, including shipments to ensure they are managed effectively.
Completes and reviews ATS documentation to insure regulatory compliance and adherence ISO-9002 requirements and customer requests.
Generate, enter and update daily inventory information through excel, Microsoft Access and SAP, as necessary.
Offer answers or instruction on SAP logistics questions regarding the process of shipping and receiving within T&D, Sodium Chlorite and Transportation departments.
Maintains shipping records for T&D loading operations, Transportation and Sodium Chlorite. Including – orders, analytical results, DOT records and loading checklists.
Organize, verify and process all paperwork to assure the successful completion of empty and loaded railcar shipments for various products.
Supply a hazardous materials shipper list to switch crew and K&O Railroad.
Keeps record of all empty and loaded railcar information using WebDI and railroad confirmations.
On a daily basis, compile and verify (ISO-9002) billing to the shipment report then file numerically.
Process truck billing for all bulk trailers and small packages. Verify shipment weights, product analysis, container identification, tank and batch numbers for all trailer and small package shipments.
Complete goods issue for bulk shipments upon verification of all above criterion.
Update various files in excel to reflect the empty and available railcar inventory and daily railcars loaded.
Manage and respond to requests and inquiries from customers, supervisors, railroads (including FRA and AAR), customer service, control lab, and traffic departments.
Issues may involve returned product, cars needing repairs, lost and diverted cars, non-movement and bad ordered cars, demurrage bills, etc.
Monitor key raw material cars to keep the plant operating. This includes monitoring plant levels, reviewing orders and tracking railcars using SAP, Excel, Aspen and RailTrac.
Convert various units of measurement and gather assorted information from the organic, inorganic and shipping areas to compile and create the monthly production report for management and division personnel.
Keep yearly logs of the information to help generate Environmental and Safety EPA information.
Produce BOLs for repair shop cars as needed.
Supports and fulfills the requirements of the plant’s ISO Quality System.
High School or Equivalent
High proficiency in Microsoft applications (such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to read, write and speak in English.
Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to work as part of a team.
Must possess valid driver’s license.
Physical requirements – Must be able to lift 40 lbs, climb ladders and stairs. Walking, bending, stooping is required. Must be able to wear personal protective equipment including the use of a respirator. Must be able to respond to visual and audible alarms.
