Warehouse Job Description
Pay: 22.15 per hour
Job Title: Warehouse Employee
Department: Operations
Reports To: Warehouse Supervisor
Job Location: Omaha
Hours/Week: M-TH 10hr Swing Shift /40 guaranteed plus overtime

Summary Receives, stores, and distributes products within warehouse by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Reads load sheet or bill of lading to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed.
  • Assembles customer orders from stock and places orders by hand on pallets or truck bays; builds 12-15 pallets per day stacking cases 8-14 layers high.
  • Drives forklift to convey product and items from receiving or loading areas to storage or to other designated areas; completes forklift inspection.
  • Load outgoing and unload incoming trucks; Sorts and places products by hand on racks, shelves, or designated area according to predetermined sequence such as size, brand, style, color, stop sequence or product code.
  • Sorts and stores product in refrigerated rooms.
  • Counts palletized product for delivery to ensure conformance to company standards.
  • Wraps pallet with shrink wrap and marks materials with identifying information.
  • Records amounts of product received or distributed.
  • Arranges products in specified sequence on pick line; including moving product from pallets to flow racking or from pallet to pallet by hand.
  • Uses iPod to enter records product moves within Encompass. Occasionally compiles invoices and collects payment.
  • Drives vehicle onsite to enable loading of product for shipment.
  • Maintains inventory records.
  • Follows all safety regulations including Company standards, OSHA regulations, and Food Safety/Defense requirements.

Education and/or Experience
High school education or equivalent; or up to one year related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills
Ability to read, write and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos written in English.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add and subtract.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional variables.

Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. The employee must frequently lift and/or move by hand from floor to knuckle and from knuckle to shoulder more than 40 pounds (case of beer) and occasionally lift and/or move more than 160 pounds (keg of beer) 4-6 inches (from floor to pallet).
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is frequently exposed to extreme cold. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
