We’re actively seeking a talented IT Risk Consultant (fulltime) to join our Non-Financial IT Risk Team. This role can be on-site in Newport Beach, CA or 100% remote.

As a fulltime IT Risk Consultant, you’ll play a key role in Pacific Life’s growth and long-term success by working with teams across the company to identify and make recommendations on information technology risk and control optimization. This role sits on a team of 8 people in Corporate. Your fellow colleagues will include individuals focused on Project Management, Business Continuity / Disaster Recovery Planning, Business Process Optimization, Risk Management and Compliance. If you’re experienced in GRC, auditing IT systems and have strong risk management experience, SaaS (Software-as-a-Service) Architecture, Security, Support and IT Operations, you’re a great fit for this role.

How you will make an impact:

Review and assess compliance activities conducted by the team to provide guidance on business objectives, structure, policies and procedures, internal controls, and external regulations

Lead Process and Control efforts such as reviewing IT processes, conducting risk assessments providing recommendations on issues management / resolution across multiple areas and overseeing internal and external audits

Assess documented controls on systems and review processes and controls using narratives, flow charts, data flow diagrams, etc.

Serve as an IT technology lead who evaluates internal control findings, develops remediation plans and monitors our integrated risk platform (IRP) solution, Archer, to document progress against the achievement of control objectives

The experience you will bring:

10+ years minimum general IT control experience within a Governance, Risk & Compliance organization

10+ years of experience leading compliance programs in a large company setting

Demonstrated success delivering results as a highly motivated and results-oriented team leader

Possess strong abilities to work independently under general supervision with considerable latitude for initiative and independent judgment

Proven experience in being detail-oriented with strong organizational and follow-up skills, as well as experienced in handling multiple projects simultaneously

Excels in a fast-paced and evolving environment

Looks for new and creative ways to solve problems or improve processes

What will make you stand out:

Experience with practice and principles of Governance, Risk & Compliance

Knowledge and experience in utilizing various methodologies and frameworks including COBIT, COSO, SOC1 and SOC Type II reports

Understanding of general privacy concepts and practices

CISA, CISM, CISSP, CIA or CRISC preferred
