Manufacturing Technician:
Manufacturing Technicians are responsible for sustaining high volume production, troubleshooting process and equipment issues, continuous improvement activities related to process and equipment and support of Production. Will enable next generation components and systems related to semiconductor diodes lasers, optics, and fiber coupled devices.
Functions:

  • Reporting to Manufacturing, oversee the operation of automated production tools, ensuring high quality, throughput and utilization
  • Troubleshoot equipment and process issues, perform routine data collection, and effectively communicate the status of tools and proposed solutions
  • Help define and then execute routine process equipment maintenance and calibrations
  • Work collaboratively with process engineering to manage specific processes and assist in defining and executing continuous process improvements with a focus on projects that reduce PM or tool down durations, improve safety/ergonomics, and reduce tool interrupts
  • Leadership in support, training, and certification of Production Personnel
  • Support engineering in documenting of processes in Prototype and High volume lines.
  • Lead by example in eliminating equipment issues from Production’s critical path
  • Drive continuous improvement opportunities utilizing wide variety of analytical techniques (such as SPC, DOE, Gage R&R), lean manufacturing, and six sigma concepts.

Qualifications:

  • Associates degree in Science or Engineering
  • 5+ years professional work experience in high volume Production environment working with electronics, semiconductor equipment or opto-mechanical assemblies.
  • Strong computer skills and comfortable learning new tools and processes.
  • Meticulous attention to detail, highly organized, and self-motivated.
  • Good communication skills and ability to learn quickly in fast environment.
  • Experience in supporting process development of components, sub-systems, fibers, precision optical/electro-mechanical assemblies is preferred.
  • Experience with mechanical drawings, basic tooling, and fixture design would be desirable.
  • Knowledge and understanding of optics, fibers, laser diodes, and test equipment is preferred.

Available Shifts:
These positions will be assigned to day shift, working M-F 7:00AM-3:30PM for the first few weeks and then transition to the following shift, as assigned:
C Shift (Day): Thursday-Saturday + every other Wednesday: 5:00AM to 5:30PM
