Local candidates only for the Plano office location. This position is not 100% remote.

An IT Apprentice will be part of an extensive and wide-ranging training program with exposure to a variety of specialized technology disciplines including but not limited to, Network Engineering, Systems Engineering, Database Administration. An Apprentice will receive support from managers and mentors through hands-on training, with the intention to learn, develop and demonstrate new knowledge.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Act as initial contact for all internal customer and provide user-level technical support for hundreds of users in offices around the world
  • Perform installs, upgrades, moves, and changes for computer workstation hardware and software, printers, and other peripheral devices
  • Support installation and upgrades to hardware and software, and other peripheral devices
  • Support with computers, building and configuring hardware and software, troubleshooting, virus removals, etc
  • Provide support to hundreds of internal and external users in offices around the world
  • Assist with the implementation of new technology, and support projects as needed
  • Assist with documentation of systems, standard operating procedures and audits
  • Investigate user issues, identify root-cause, provide solutions, and escalate as needed
  • Maintain confidentiality with the business information being processed, stored, or accessed by end-users on the network
  • Perform other duties as needed

Qualifications & Requirements

  • A general understanding of, and demonstrated affinity for, PCs and related technologies (networking, databases, VMs, Linux, etc.)
  • User level knowledge of Windows, and basic experience with MS Office
  • Tech certifications (A+, Network+, etc.) preferred
  • Automation experience (Powershell, batch files, etc.) strongly preferred
  • Perform all work and activities with honesty and integrity
  • Take personal responsibility for productivity, quality and timeliness of work
  • Effectively communicate (and listen) clearly, professionally, politely and persuasively in all situations; respond well and in a reasonable, timely manner

Working Conditions

Must be able to perform the essential job duties. Work is performed primarily in an office environment. Typically requires the ability to sit for extended periods of time (66%+ each work day), ability to hear the telephone, ability to enter data on a computer and may also require the ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
