This position will have detailed interaction with the two owners. The owners are former bankers who take pride in structure and organization within the Company.
The right candidate will need to fit in the same, as we are a small group with 16 workers.
Experienced Controller, Bookkeeper, or Accountant is sought for a growing loan company in Tinley Park, IL. The Controller should be well-suited to assist management in its goals and bring efficiency and strategy to the table in the accounting and finance department. The right individual will play an important role in the overall dynamic of the company.
Detail-oriented person should be knowledgeable and able to perform or oversee these duties:
REQUIREMENTS:
1. Know Quickbooks and Excel. Vlookup function is important.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Perform accounting function for the Company overall.
2. Prepare monthly financial statements using Quickbooks.
3. Prepared monthly comparisons to budget using Quickbooks.
4. Pull month-end reports using specialized software to prepare journal entries.
5. Account balancing for internal General Ledgers daily and weekly.
6. Prepare bank reconciliation monthly.
7. Annual report preparation annually for state agency licensing.
8. Managing Company liabilities including subordinated debt tracking and renewals.
9. Budgets prepared monthly and annually.
10. Manage financial and field audits annually and periodically.
11. Produce monthly borrowing base certificates and quarterly covenant monitoring for secured lending relationship.
12. Oversee production of various management and board reports.
13. Assist on corporate strategy as needed.
14. Oversee Company insurance policy renewals annually.
15. Perform administrative duties related to bank accounts and users.
16. Advise on corporate strategy including accounting, tax, and finance issues.
17. Oversee the bookkeeping clerk performing these duties:
a. Cutting checks for insurance bills.
b. Paying Accounts Payable and other Corporate invoices on a daily basis.
c. Bookkeeping and making monthly journal entries.
d. Performing weekly and monthly bank reconciliation.
e. Reporting balances to CEO to manage funding requirements.
f. Processing Payroll every two weeks and oversee employee vacation accrual, monitoring, etc.
DESIRED SKILLS:
1. Accounting or finance degree required. Advance degree is preferred.
2. High speed typing and key stroking experience.
3. Highly competent in accounting, finance, and corporate strategy.
