Ampal is the largest producer of aluminum powder in North America. Our product may be used in the automotive industry, pigments for paints & inks, explosives, chemicals, etc. We are currently seeking an ERP Specialist to join our team in Palmerton, PA.

This individual will be responsible for assisting with development, maintenance, reporting and end user support on all the ERP system, data warehouse, etc. This includes creating and maintaining user profiles (user or role-based menus and overall access to the ERP system), basic knowledge and function of ERP Standards, assist all team members, entities, and departments with the analysis of the system information (extracts & reports), and keeping accurate records of queries/faults logged and the appropriate solutions and actions taken.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Maintains database results by setting and enforcing standards and controls.
  • Become proficient in the daily use of the ERP System.
  • Learn to create reports, analyze and verify reports to ensure accuracy.
  • Maintains ERP Database performance by troubleshooting problems.
  • Assists team with report development.
  • Preparing development progress updates and documenting ERP processes.
  • Collaborate with the team, end users and IT Operations as needed to test ERP modifications.
  • Assists with developing policies, procedures, and controls with the Team.
  • Support administration of ERP security and permissions for ERP users.
  • Maintain “teacher’s frame of mind,” including patience with varying styles and paces of learning.
  • Provide first line of ERP support and Assist Engineering, Customer Service, Logistics, Production Leaders and Managers to accurately maintain and support the ERP System and its users.
  • Assist in training personnel in the use of the ERP system.
  • Respond to intense individuals and intense situations in ways that reduce, not add to, stress and unproductive conflict.
  • Stay current in ERP knowledge and skills to continually improve ability to perform duties and tasks of this job.
  • Keep accurate training records, modification records, quotes, and invoice records.
  • Keep senior technical management informed by preparing reports and KPI’s.
  • Assists with coordinating external consultants time and activities on projects outsourced to them.
  • Keep current on ERP and technology knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
  • Ability to work outside of normal business hours, as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 1 – 2 years ERP experience required with a database such as Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server or IBM DB2.
  • SAP experience desired.
  • Familiarity with SQL.
  • Intermediate to Advanced knowledge of Microsoft 365 (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, etc.)
  • Preferred experience in Power Bi, Power Apps, or similar SaaS applications.
  • Experience in assisting with ERP development, administration, maintenance; systems administration; application administration; and/or information technology support or management is desired.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Must be self-motivated and able to work under general supervision.
  • Ability to think creatively and analytically.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with team members.
  • Must possess a positive can-do attitude and teamwork skills.
  • Knowledge of SAP preferred.
  • Knowledge of SSMS and SSRS preferred.
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to keep company and employee information confidential.
  • Ability to multi-task several projects simultaneously and prioritize and organize tasks daily.
  • Continuous improvement minded.

Pay: $50,000.00 – $65,000.00 per year
