Remote Chemical Engineer – Dust Safety

Description:

This remote opportunity allows you to live where you currently reside and travel to established food and pharmaceutical clients primarily in the SE, NE, and Midwest with a few trips outside of the US. You will be developing engineering solutions to prevent dust explosions at your clients’ facilities. The bonus potential is large and dependent on the company’s profitability splitting 1/3 of its profits with their employees. This fast-growing 50-person engineering firm supports chemical and food plants in fire prevention as well. You’ll be a part of a 4-person team of engineers with technical support from other in-house engineers. You’ll be evaluating client’s needs, developing initial engineering solutions, reviewing client’s P&ID’s and final equipment selection, and performing dust hazard reviews. This opportunity can be for a process, production, or project engineer. You’ll have the chance to further develop your skillset and become an expert in a specific demanding niche in this industry. The travel is mostly overnight and estimated at 30%. You will be reporting to the Project Manager.

Minimum Requirements:

  • B.S. in Chemical Engineering
  • 3+ years’ experience of Dust Hazard Analysis (DHA’s) or closely related out of foods or chemicals
  • Need to have a sense of urgency and a high degree of attention to detail
  • Experience with industrial process safety, engineering consulting, process hazard analysis, risk assessments, ability to understand P&IDs, and knowledge of NFPA is plus
